Calling all young art enthusiasts out there! In conjunction with RWW 2008, we are holding a drawing and cartoon competition. Both competitions cater to secondary schools both government and private. So draw out those paints, markers and crayons and get busy!

Categories, rules and regulations for both are as follow:

Category A (Age : 16-18 years)
  • First Prize
    - RM 200
    - Certificate
    - Hamper

  • Second prize
    - RM 150
    - Certificate
    - Hamper

  • Third Prize
    - RM 100
    - Certificate
    - Hamper

  • Consolation prizes (three pax)
    - Voucher worth RM 80
    - Certificate
    - Hamper

Category A (Age : 13-15 years)
  • First Prize
    - RM 150
    - Certificate
    - Hamper

  • Second prize
    - RM 10
    - Certificate
    - Hamper

  • Third Prize
    - RM 80
    - Certificate
    - Hamper

  • Consolation prizes (three pax)
    - Voucher worth RM 50
    - Certificate
    - Hamper

Drawing Competition-Rules and Regulations
  1. Entries are open to all Malaysian secondary school students, both government and private schools.
  2. There is no limit to the number of entries from each student. However, a student is only entitled to win ONE prize.
  3. Entries must reflect the theme of the drawing competition: Migrating raptors. As this a picture drawing competition, catch phrases need not be incorporated into artwork.
  4. Artwork must be based on the Malaysian scenario.
  5. Size of artwork should be 15 inch X 22 inch and choice of medium is free (e.g. water colour, collage, crayon, etc).
  6. Entries must be accompanied by an entry form (as attached). Photocopies of forms are allowed. Please ensure forms are securely attached to the artwork.
  7. Judging will be based on creativity (25%), originality (25%) and the ability of each entry to reflect / interpret the theme and its related issues effectively (50%).
  8. The organisers own the copyright for all the artwork.
  9. All entries must reach Malaysian Nature Society by 15 February 2008.

    Any entries received after this date will not be entertained. Proof of postage is not proof of receipt.

  10. Only the top three winners of each category will be notified for the prize giving ceremony which will be held on 8 March 2008 in Tanjung Tuan, Melaka. For results of the competition, please log on to www.raptorwatch.org or www.mns.org.my from 5 March 2008 onwards.
  11. Certificate of participation will only be given for satisfactory artworks.
Cartoon Drawing Competition-Rules and Regulations

  4. Artwork must be based on the Malaysian scenario.
  5. Size of artwork paper: 15 inch X 22 inch.
    If the cartoon drawing involves more than one frame, the minimum size of each frame should be 6 inch x 8 inch.
    Medium: Black Ink Pen only

  6. Entries must be accompanied by an entry form (as attached). Photocopies of forms are allowed. Please ensure forms are securely attached to the artwork.
  7. Judging will be based on creativity (25%), originality (25%) and the ability of each entry to reflect the message effectively (50%).
