Hey kids, have we got a treat for you! We know a great way to kick-start you school holidays and that would be with Raptor Watch Weekend! Tell Mum & Dad and all your pals that come this March 8 & 9 , RWW 2008 is set to rock Port Dickson!
So pack those hats and sunnies, and get ready for a sun-soaked weekend with raptors galore! We promise you it’ll be a fun and educational experience you will want to share with all your buddies and teachers when you return to school…
Cool things to do at RWW 2008:
Bird Watching:
It’s that time of the year when thousands of birds fly back to their home in the north.
At RWW 2008 you’d get to see thousands of raptors (birds like eagles, hawks, buzzards etc.), of course if weather permits. Want to find out more about the types of raptors you can see at RWW 2008? Click here!
Nature Walk:
Have someone take you and the whole family on a walk through the forest and learn all about the interesting trees, shrubs and flowers you’ll find there.
Tanjung Tuan forest reserve is one of the oldest in the country! Imagine the wonders you’d find lurking in this centuries-old forest!!
Mangrove Walk:
Do you like to get wet? Well, get read to splash into the RWW mangrove walk! You’ll get to see mangrove trees in the mangrove swamp and perhaps even some coral reefs!
If you are really in luck you might even get to see a turtle! Discover many secrets that lie hidden amongst the roots of the mangrove trees and build a sand sculpture to represent what you’ve learnt when you’re done.
Batik Painting:
If you like local art then make your own nature batik piece at the Batik Stall. Mum would be sure to love it!
Make your own Fridge Magnets:
Is your fridge at home bare and boring? Worry not! Help mom decorate your fridge with fridge magnets! Make your own fridge magnets at RWW 2008 and display them at home for all to envy!
Face Painting & Henna Tattoo:
Get your face painted! Or get a tattoo (ahem…. a temporary one that is)! Or decorate your hand with henna art…
Raptor Board:
Remember the ‘Snake and Ladder’ Game? At RWW 2008, we have the Raptor Migration Game! Help our raptors make a safe journey home and win fantastic prizes!
Last but not least…
The best reason to come down to RWW is to take it easy, chill out by the beach, take a stroll around the fields beneath the wide open sky and just enjoy nature. When you visit RWW 2008 you will be giving support to MNS as we help the raptors and other migratory birds. You are important to these birds! Come on down and join us as we welcome the raptors and wish them a safe journey back to their faraway homes!
